Everyday Fine Jewelry

Designed for Daily Wear

Japanese-inspired design, made to be worn—often and effortlessly.

At the heart of Starberry is Japanese-inspired fine jewelry shaped by a refined lifestyle aesthetic—clean lines, thoughtful details, and pieces designed for daily life. Diamonds fit this philosophy beautifully: naturally luminous, resilient enough for everyday wear, and endlessly versatile across styles.

We believe an informed choice is the best choice. This guide explains what to expect from natural diamonds under one carat, including how quality is evaluated, what truly matters for daily wear, and how to keep your jewelry looking brilliant over time.

Our Commitment to Natural Diamonds

The Industry’s Common Language

GIA’s 4C Standard

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) introduced the 4Cs—Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat Weight—as a universal system to describe diamond quality consistently across the industry.

GIA’s cut grading system applies to the standard round brilliant and across the D-to-Z color range.

C How GIA evaluates it Scale / notes
Carat Weight (not “size”) 1 carat = 200 mg
Color Compared under controlled conditions D (colorless) → Z (light yellow/brown)
Clarity Evaluated at 10× magnification FL → I3; many inclusions aren’t visible to the naked eye
Cut How well the diamond returns light For round brilliant, cut grades: Excellent / Very Good / Good / Fair / Poor

What To Know

Diamond Enhancements

Some diamonds in the broader market undergo treatments to alter appearance.
The key is not avoidance, but clear disclosure and understanding how these processes affect durability, care, and value.

Enhancement Type What It Does What Buyers Should Know
Laser drilling Reduces visibility of certain inclusions Should be disclosed; may affect value
Fracture filling Makes fractures less visible Requires disclosure; may affect care and long-term stability
HPHT Alters appearance, often color Legitimate process; disclosure is essential
Irradiation / annealing Changes color Common for fancy colors; disclosure matters
Coating Adds surface color Can wear off; disclosure is critical

Starberry note: We focus on natural, wearable beauty and select diamonds for a clean, balanced look. If any special documentation applies to a style, it will be clearly noted on the product page.
